Mr. Robert E. Zietz

  Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 17, 2008.  Age 73 years.  He was born on March 28, 1935 in Saginaw to the late Oscar and Erma (Rupprecht) Zietz. He married Yvonne N. Yearsley on April 7, 1956 in Saginaw. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a Caribbean Cruise.  She survives him. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he was employed as a tooling inspector for Eaton Corp. after 31 years of service. Robert was on staff for the Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc. Chapter V for the past 11 years; had been very active in Boy Scouts, serving as Cub Master and Assist. Scout Master for more than 40 years; was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award; enjoyed camping, hunting and loved traveling together with his wife within the 48 states; and their time spent in Florida. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Surviving besides his wife of 52 years, Yvonne, they have three children and their spouses, Cynthia (Steven) Zietz-Lemaire, St. Charles; Steven (Judy) Zietz, Saginaw; Wendy Zietz and her special friend, Jon Ciaramitaro, Saginaw; five grandchildren, Chelsey and Dustin Lemaire; Kristi and Cody Zietz and Kate; two sisters, Marie (Robert) Warner, Naubinway, Mich; Erna (Robert) Sanders, Saginaw. He was predeceased by his grandson, Jake.
 Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5335 Brockway Rd. The Rev. Mark P. Buckert will officiate with burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc.
