Mr. Henry H. (Hank) Otto, Jr.

Saginaw, Michigan

August 29, 1932 - January 5, 2009

  Passed away Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre. Age 76 years. Henry was born on August 29, 1932 in Pigeon, Mich. to the late Henry H. and Martha E. (Gremel) Otto, Sr. He married Joan L. Furlo on December 5, 1953 in Saginaw, where she survives him. Henry served in the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged on April 17, 1956. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a carpenter at Malleable Iron. Henry was Past Commander of V.F.W. Post 1859, charter member of V.F.W., Eagles, Fire Department and Police Department of Carrollton. Surviving besides his wife, Joan of 55 years, he has four children and their spouses, Debra (Dominic) D’Amore’, Freeland; Jody (Dwayne) Yaklin, Omer; Henry (Lynn) Otto, III, Alabama; Mark Otto, Florida; six grandchildren, Dominic (Stephanie), Damien and Dustin D’Amore’; Joshua Yaklin; Haley and Jacob Otto; two sisters, Carol Hoeppner, Saginaw, Joan Storm; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister, Roy and Milton Otto, Norma Jean (Jeanie) Fleschner. The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre for their tender loving care.
  Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2008 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss. The Rev. Charles F. Buckhahn will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum, where military honor guard services will be conducted under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859 Carrollton/Zilwaukee. Friends are welcome to visit at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. on Friday, January 9th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
