  Passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Saint Mary’s of Michigan following a brief illness. Age 51 years. John was born on March 5, 1957 in Saginaw, the son of Jack and Gladys (Meehleder) Carlton. He married Elizabeth A. LaFayette on March 5, 1981. She survives him. John had worked as a mechanic for the majority of his life. He loved nature and camping. Surviving besides his wife, Liz, are their two children and spouses, Christopher (Angela) Carlton, Ann Arbor; Amber (David) Zuriel, Saginaw; two grandchildren, Alex “Monkey” Carlton and Tyler “Little Man” Zuriel; his mother, Gladys Berger, Saginaw; one brother, William Carlton, Saginaw; two sisters, Joan David, Freeland; Helen Kehr, Saginaw; sister-in-law, Joann Heinz, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews; special neighbors and friends, Judy and Freddy Perez, Dottie and Ron Goodrich; and his dog, Dusty Rose. He was predeceased by his father, Jack.
  Funeral service will take place 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
