Mr. Vernon A. Neigh
Saginaw, Michigan
March 7, 1918 - January 28, 2009
Passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at the Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities. Age 90 years. Vernon was born on March 7, 1918, in Saginaw, to the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Parlberg) Neigh. He married Dorothy Elizabeth Puffpaff on April 26, 1941 in Saginaw. She survives him. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he had worked as a service technician for Sears Roebuck and Co. for 41 years. Vernon was a devout member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bethlehem Senior Saints, and served as an Elder and an usher for many years, and was a member of Sears Retirees. He enjoyed traveling and family time. He especially loved time spent with his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife, Dorothy, is one daughter and three sons, Karen J. Schram, Saginaw; Gerald (Karen) Neigh, Oscoda; Rev. Dennis (Barbara) Neigh, Greenbush; W. Rick Neigh, Grand Rapids; six grandchildren, Stacy Schram Priebe, Paige Olivares, Jennifer Schram, Melissa McLaughlin, Andrew Neigh, and Shannon Muehlenkamp; two step-grandchildren, Teresa Maxson and Michael Marshall; 11 great-grandchildren, Amanda Muehlenkamp, Courtney Menoher, Cameron Menoher, Caitlyn Olivares, Meridian Schram, Marlaina Schram, Autumn Berdovich, Emily Priebe, Ashley Priebe, Alex McLaughlin, and Emma McLaughlin; one step-great-grandchild, Patrick Marshall; one brother, Leslie Neigh, Bay City. He was predeceased by one brother and one sister, Roland A. Neigh and Elaine Carlton.

Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2009 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss. The Reverends Michael R. Korte and Charles F. Buckhahn will officiate with burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or School.
