Mr. James W. Burgdorf

Saginaw, Michigan

March 14, 1925 - February 28, 2009

   Passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Covenant Emergency Medical Center. Age 83 years. He was born on March 14, 1925 in Saginaw, Mich. to the late Allie and Iola (Wilson) Burgdorf. He was married to Mildred M. Neuman on August 28, 1948 in Saginaw, and she survives him. He had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 34 years as a mechanic for Consolidated Freightways. He was a member of the American Legion #439 and was a past scout master. Jim’s passions were bowling and golf for over 40 years. Surviving besides his wife, Mildred, are their two children, Michael (Candice) Burgdorf, Sarasota, FL; Susan Lofaro and her friend, Howard Strickland, Saginaw; four grandchildren, James Lofaro, Saginaw, Jennifer (Thomas) Frank, Birch Run, Christopher (Jamie) Burgdorf, Bay City, Brigett Wilson, Saginaw; seven great-grandchildren, Lisa and Jordaan, Ethan, Samantha, Kara, CJ, Cassidy; several niece and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Mateman.
  Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., then on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
