Mrs. Katharina Armbruster
Saginaw, Michigan
June 24, 1915 - April 6, 2009
Passed away Monday, April 6, 2009, at Luther Manor. Age 93 years. Katharina was born on June 24, 1915, in Verbas, Yugoslavia, to the late Nickolas and Rosalia (Stoekel) Laubenstein. She was married to Anton Armbruster on April 26, 1936, in Yugoslavia. Anton predeceased her on March 6, 1998. Prior to her retirement in 1978, she was employed at Severance Tool for 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Surviving are her three children, Adolf Armbruster, Lyons, Mich; Trudy (Eric) Payk, Saginaw; Rosemarie (Garry) Kane, Walnut Creek, Calif. Five grandchildren, Alexander Armbruster; Rick (Renee’) Payk; Kim (Tim) Millar; Tiffany Kane and Nathan Kane; six great-grandchildren. She also leaves her three sisters, Elizabeth Riffert; Theresia Walbert and Anna Schmidt; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Jake Armbruster and four brothers. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Luther Manor for its loving care of Katharina.
Funeral and committal services will be held 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. The Rev. Douglas W. Kahl will officiate. Private interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be given Luther Manor of Saginaw (Activities Dept.) or St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
