Mr. William E. LeClair, Sr.

Formerly of Hemlock

May 24, 1932 - May 13, 2009

  Passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at his home. Age 76 years. Formerly from Hemlock, Mich., he was best known to his loved ones and friends as “Bill the Baker” from the days owning the Hemlock Bakery. He proudly served in the Army and later served at the Richland Twp. Fire Dept; Richland Police Dept; Saginaw County Sheriff’s Dept; and Saginaw Twp. Police Dept. before retiring up north. Bill married Catherine (Smith) LeClair on October 22, 1955. She survives him. Also surviving are their four children and their families, Pam (Kurt) Aven; Nancy (Roger) Clare; Sally LeClair; Bill (Jennifer) LeClair, Jr.; and his beloved grandchildren, Emily and Mikayla Aven; Paige, Dillon and Grace Clare; James “JD” (Kala) LeClair; Josh and Jason LeClair; his sister Marion Grenell and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
  Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. Pastor Douglas Jackson will officiate with burial in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., then on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
