  Robert Allen Leser, 68, of Harvey, and former Saginaw resident, entered eternal life on June 5, 2009, at his home in the care of his family and the caregivers of Lake Superior Hospice. He was born on October 4, 1940, in Saginaw, son of John and Hulda (Schade) Leser, Bob was raised in Saginaw and was a 1958 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, he entered the US Army, serving from 1958 to 1962 and especially enjoyed the travel opportunities afforded by being in service. He returned to Saginaw and was employed with Saginaw Malleable Iron Foundry as a line inspector, retiring in 1993 after 36 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing on his boat, photography, traveling to the Canadian Rockies, and caring for his canine companion, “Pookie”.
  Survivors include his sisters, Marilyn Leser of Gwinn and Joann (John) Bartnik of Saginaw; brothers, John Albert Leser of Harvey and Gary (Carol) Leser of Saginaw; nephews, Tim Schramm, Michael Leser, Daniel (Leah) Segura; great nieces and nephews, Timothy Alan Schmidt, Robert Allen Schramm, Emilie Schramm, Aria Mae and Audra Lily Segura, and Elijah Michael Segura; his aunts, Caroline Cecil of Presidio, TX and Ella Escalera of Burton; numerous cousins; and, of course, “Pookie”.
  Honoring Bob’s request, cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. The Rev. Ken Baker will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the Lake Superior Hospice Association, 914 W. Baraga Ave., Marquette, MI 49855.
