Mr. Sampson Allen

Saginaw, Michigan

January 1, 1957 - July 21, 2009

  After a long courageous battle with liver disease, Sammy passed away peacefully at Covenant Medical Center – Cooper. Sammy was born in Traverse City, Mich. and was raised in Saginaw. Sammy was one of two children adopted by the late Mrs. Ophelia Henry. Sammy is survived by and will forever be remembered by his loving sister, Marsha Garza-Callaway; treasured sons Deontay and James (Pooh) Thompson; beloved granddaughters and grandson, Alaska Garcia, Deonandra, Leonta, and Jammaion; devoted favorite niece / sister and caretaker, Stephanie Lawrence; nieces and nephews Alexis Lawrence, Wendy Garza, Alyssa Garza-Tolliver, Alex Lawrence, and Thomas Garza, along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know him. Sammy enjoyed landscaping, watching sci-fi movies, laughing, being with his family, and having fun with friends. Sammy touched the lives of many people with his smile, generosity and forgiving heart. Sammy maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. He will be terribly missed.
  Memorial service will take place 12:00 noon Saturday, July 25, 2009, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. Pastor David A. Howard will officiate. Memories and sympathies may be shared with the family online at WakemanFuneralHome.com
