Mrs. Edna E. Tessin

Hemlock (Richland Township), Michigan

July 7, 1931 - July 27, 2009

  Passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital, Saginaw. Age 78 years. Edna was born on July 7, 1931 in Flint, Mich, to the late Alfred and Elsie (Wade) Lince. She was married to Erich A. Tessin on May 22, 1954, and he predeceased her on May 2, 1997. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hemlock, having served on the Ladies Aide, Sunday School Teacher for 21 years, and YAH’s. She was a 4-H Leader for 21 years also, and worked the Hotline for the Pregnancy Counseling Center. Surviving are her two daughters, Cynthia Siewert, and her friend, Bob, Oklahoma City, OK; Alice (Brion) Jamison, Hemlock; four grandchildren, Sean Tessin, Las Vegas, NV; Ryan Siewert, Oklahoma City, OK; Zachary and Daniel Jamison, Hemlock; her two sisters, Ruth Winters, Midland; Sharleen (David) Bador, Burton; brother-in-law, Donald (Shirley) Tessin, Hemlock; and several nieces and nephews. Edna was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Hank Siewert.
  Funeral Celebration for Edna will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2290 Pretzer Rd., Hemlock. The Rev. Andrew Backus will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Pregnancy Counseling Center.
