Mrs. Ethel Mae Williams

Saginaw, Michigan

March 20, 1929 - November 25, 2009

  Passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Age 80 years. Ethel was born on March 20, 1929, in Midland, and was adopted by the late Edwin and Laura (Bekemeier) Schluckebier. She married Ralph E. Williams on July 7, 1951, in Richville, MI. He survives her. Ethel graduated from Saginaw General School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She was employed at St. Luke’s Emergency Room and Dr. Robert F. Powers’ office. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Saginaw General Nurses Alumni Association, Germania Town & Country Club, Saginaw Valley Lutheran High School Guild, and the Valparaiso Guild. Surviving besides her husband, Ralph, are their three children, Ann L. Berthold, Eaton Rapids, MI.; James G. (Linda) Williams, Traverse City, MI.; Robert E. (Barbara) Williams, Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Jennie Clark, Bay City; Katie (Kyle) Green, Milwaukee, WI.; Mark Williams, Chicago, IL; Noah Williams and Leah Williams, Ft. Worth, TX; step-grandchildren, Brittney Manns, Saginaw; Robert (Lisa) Berthold, Fenton; Mark (Alana) Berthold, Eaton Rapids; great-grandchild, Ryan Clark; step-great-grandchildren, Conner, Lexi, Rebekah and Timothy Berthold.  She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Edward K. Berthold.
  Funeral Celebration will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. The Rev. C. William Weis will officiate with entombment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. on Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., then at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, Valley Lutheran High School or Lutheran Child and Family Services.
